As of today, OS33, now with Cloud Drive, lets everyone who works in the OS33 Portal access any Internet drive using any Internet connected computer or device. This means that you can easily work with all of the files hosted on your computer. All of the files hosted in your core business data center. All of the files, data, applications hosted with any other business account you have in the cloud, and do it via WebDAV with single sign-on. You have fully automated provisioning of Amazon S3, Windows NTFS, DFS and SharePoint 2010 storage.
If you wish to work with MS Office hosted in a data center, work away. If you want to work with it hosted locally, just click your local MS Office icon. If Office Web Apps using a browser is your choice, feel free. And here again, you can choose any of these options using any type of storage.
If like many companies you have legacy applications that don’t support cloud storage, OS33 has added a Drop to Amazon folder that will automatically synchronize legacy apps data with Amazon S3.
From a cost perspective, this means that you can maximize the utility of inexpensive storage technology, more easily, and efficiently, moving data from any environment to any other.
From the point-of-view of your staff it means that they have a much easier time finding even widely divergent resources, and can work with them more intuitively. In fact, Cloud Drive boasts universal copy and paste, and lets everyone work with their Favorites and Recently Used files across any platform.
“And what about IT Administrators?” you ask. They were at the very top of our list. With Cloud Drive they can now track usage as well as manage permissions and printing using automated operations across storage and access methods. Here come the smiles. Just watch.
The days of multiple storage providers divergently standing as individual silos are finally over. The world of IT has come together. That is, for those of us who go to work each day with OS33 and the industry leading Cloud Drive.
